Introduction
This document describes the Cloud DRM service provided by Insys Video Technologies. It explains how to use the protection system and how to integrate it with external systems.
The Cloud DRM service enables video content protection using the built-in DRM capabilities of Google, Apple, and Microsoft platforms.
How Cloud DRM works
To start using the DRM Cloud service, there are two integration points:
- KMS - Integration with the video streaming headend (also known as packager or encoder) to encrypt the video content using keys obtained from the DRM Cloud service. This integration point is referred to as the Key Management Service (KMS) or key server.
- Player - Integration with the video player to securely display the video to the end user, ensuring that copy protection is in place and the right to view the video is granted. This integration point is called the License Endpoint or License Acquisition URL, as the player needs to obtain cryptographic DRM License data to display protected content.
To integrate KMS see Securing content. To integrate video player go to Licence acquisition.
